iPLANETS ACADEMY is an Independent, Private,

Non-Traditional, and Year-Round Elementary Hybrid Homeschool Academy serving Parents, Educating and Fostering a Love of Learning, Self-Worth, and Future Entrepreneurship within Children who are in Kindergarten-5th grade. We inspire excellency through our D.I.C.E. curriculum which focuses heavily on the past and the those in the present within our African-American community as well as the Asian, Hispanic, Native American, and other history.

D.I.C.E. is a FUN while Learning, nurturing, safe, stimulating hands-on micro-environment concept offering multiple and diverse developmentally appropriate heavily S.T.R.E.A.M.S. (STEM), project, inquiry, and problem-based activities that incorporate a balance between teacher-facilitated instruction and child-initiated activities.

D.I.C.E. seeks to awaken our children's inner gifts and to pursue their own passion and dreams whatever they may be. We believe we make our own path, our own way, and WE define what we shall become. Our integrated curriculum connects heads, hearts, and hands, allowing students to approach concepts and content from multiple perspectives at developmentally appropriate points. Our children are led to reflect regularly on their social-emotional and physical development as well as their academic learning.

We don't just want doers, we inspire thinkers. We don’t want clones and robots who are made to conform to someone else's ideas or packing away endless information given to them. D.I.C.E. seeks to support children in developing creativity, initiative, and building higher-order thinking skills by questioning, investigating, analyzing, exploring, processing information, evaluating, problem-solving, and communicating in their ongoing collaboration with peers, to pursue their passions, to challenge, to innovate, to build character, to build relationships and friendships, and sharing what they see, know, and understand deciding who they will be in society while leading the next generation.

Most importantly, our focus is on their later years. What shall they do with all this information they've spent all these years absorbing? How will it translate later in life? Not just in their school years or college, but what career shall they do? What good is it to know all this information if it doesn't actually translate to something tangible in life? Knowledge is great to have but monetizing their knowledge is even better. So we want our children to become laser focused earlier in life on what their passions are and what they want to do with their lives so they can spend more of their formative years honing those skills and gaining knowledge on it. We want them to meet others who are doing the same thing.

Although we incorporate D.I.C.E within our weekly themes, the children’s individual or collective interests play a role in shaping our daily classroom curricula. They are given a wealth of information to know, but it is not confined to classrooms or textbooks nor is it meant for them to simply consume, and memorize facts or figures.

Our ultimate goal is to foster a love of learning and learning can be found everywhere. The world is vast and everything in it is a learning opportunity for us. We strive to spend 60% within our 4 walls and 40% outside of them learning, exploring, and participating.

iPLANETS ACADEMY strives to create strong bonds between our families and to have an ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse united community involved in our student’s learning, growth, development and help them to discover what they need to thrive.

We offer a more harmonious, neighborly community and have the shared belief in the family-school partnership and the idea that communities as well as families play a vital role in a child’s development and quality education.

We recognize that our students' families are the primary educators and because of this our family’s involvement is not only welcomed but we have each of our parents on a scheduled rotating basis helping in our classrooms, sharing their interests and talents, and working alongside our students in the community.

At iPLANETS ACADEMY we use a progressive learning approach which seeks to involve all members of the community in learning. Our children are given a strong voice and stake in the learning process, from deciding how to show their understanding of a given topic, to helping shape the units of study themselves through exploring, asking questions, researching, and coming to their own conclusions. We are guides and partners in the learning process and listen deeply and carefully to our children.

Learning is active and experiential and often integrates various subject matter as our children work towards greater understanding. All our children are encouraged to learn beyond our four walls. Progressive education values the heart along with the mind and because of this, time and space are given for social and emotional learning.

Our children learn to navigate relationships with peers, identify and manage their own emotions, and advocate for their needs. We see them as individuals and are highly valued as such. We differentiate instruction, taking into account development needs and their interests; to challenge each child, while providing scaffolding for their success.

Making connections and understanding our place in the world is central to our mission. By providing students with opportunities to be involved in learning and serving in their community from the very start, we allow them to see themselves as active participants in their world. We want our children to leave us with strong voices, minds, and hearts.

It is important for children to have a safe and productive way to spend time After School.

Latch key kids can face many risks. They may worry, eat poorly, not be protected from pedophiles, watch too much television, or neglect their homework.

Fortunately, we have a great After-School program so your school-aged child from Kindergarten-Fifth Grade  will have a place to go where they can interact with friends, learn, work on homework and relax.  The program is everything you ever wanted in a safe, fun experience, and more!

To enroll at iPLANETS ACADEMY in our PRIMARY Class your child(ren) must be 5 years of age by September 1, 2021. This class is for Advanced Kindergarteners and First Grade students. They must have an attention span to sit in a class setting for lessons that are 20-30 minutes at a time and be writing already. During this time in their development, children are yearning for independence and possess a maturity beyond their years.

We realize this and work to create a stimulating and challenging environment that forms a strong cognitive base for higher learning.

As the children begin to acquire more independence, they learn about making decisions for themselves as individuals and as part of a team.

Our LOWER Class at iPLANETS ACADEMY is for child(ren) in the Second and Third grade.

The children in this class must be writing already, be mature enough to keep up with an extensive, rigorous, and fast-paced class with a varied curriculum as well as an attention span to do lessons for at least 30-45 minutes at a time.

Why do many of our parents choose iPLANETS ACADEMY for Overnight  Care? Because we live in a different time when a growing number of parents have unconventional employment schedules or may need a safe place for their children to go while they take a much-needed night off or for emergency purposes where they may need to go out of town, etc.

At iPLANETS ACADEMY, we help to remove the burden of trying to figure out who will look after your little ones by offering Overnight Care in a safe home away from a home secure environment.

Our Overnight Care is for children who are fully potty-trained and 5-years old to 10 years old.

iPLANETS ACADEMY provides high-quality Overnight Care whether it’s a one-time drop-in, weekly, or even a weekend need,  iPLANETS ACADEMY can accommodate your needs. Along with excellent care, all the children will have a delicious kid-friendly meal and or snack along with fun and educational activities.

At evening rest time, we grab blankets, enjoy story-time, and say their nighttime prayers before resting overnight in an assigned twin bed or on a crib mattress. You can have peace of mind knowing your child(ren) are in excellent hands while they are away from home.

"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult."

Our UPPER Class offers a full range of S.T.R.E.A.M.S. inspired academics for our children who are in the Fourth and Fifth grade. It offers a rich and challenging curriculum that honors each child's individual learning styles and strengths while meeting rigorous academic standards.

Our curriculum cultivates independence, initiative, and respect for the environment; it also offers hands-on learning opportunities that both deepen and extend students’ academic knowledge.

We have created a caring, respectful learning environment in which all our children can thrive. All of our programs—whether in the classroom, or our educational field days in the community—foster cooperation, creative and critical thinking, and the development of personal and social responsibility.

Our teaching philosophy centers on helping our children to develop the knowledge, skills, and habits of scholarship that are critical to success in life. Instruction stresses inquiry-based learning and higher-order thinking.

We engage the children in the ongoing exercises of grappling with essential questions that guide their units of study. Our children's acquisition of increasingly sophisticated skills and methods of approaching complex issues and projects is assessed regularly.

iPLANETS ACADEMY also offers drop ins and vacations to accommodate your needs. This is for all children who are fully potty-trained from 5 years old to 10 years old. We may accept other ages just ask. We only do drop ins and vacations by appointments only.

Boarding is a long term commitment where the children live on campus for the session you sign up for. Boarding allows our children to be a part of a family environment, learn life skills, and gives them an opportunity to develop independence in a safe and supportive environment. We have a 4, 5, and 7 day option available for our LOWER and UPPER ONLY to enroll in. With the spread of Covid 19 on the rise this helps to eliminate a lot of back and forth which can expose your child to the virus.

Boarding is shared custody specified for the term you sign up for.
