iPLANETS ACADEMY is an Independent, Non-Traditional

Elementary and Intermediate

K-5th Grade Hybrid Homeschool

that is open for 24 Hours Year-Round to serve families in the DFW area.

We love Educating, Fostering a Love of Learning, instilling Self-Worth, and inspiring Future Entrepreneurship within Children.

We inspire excellency through our D.I.C.E. curriculum which focuses not only on those in the past, but also current events and present history in the making within our African-American community as well as other US and American history.

D.I.C.E. is a FUN while Learning, nurturing, safe, stimulating, hands-on micro-environment concept offering multiple and diverse developmentally appropriate heavily S.T.R.E.A.M.S. (STEM), project, inquiry, and problem-based activities that balance between teacher-facilitated instruction and child-initiated activities.

D.I.C.E. seeks to awaken our children's inner gifts and to pursue their own passion and dreams whatever they are. We believe we make our own path, our own way, and WE define what we shall become. Our integrated curriculum connects heads, hearts, and hands, allowing students to approach concepts and content from multiple perspectives at developmentally appropriate points. Our children are encouraged to reflect regularly on their social-emotional, spiritual, and physical development as well as their academic learning.

D.I.C.E. supports children in developing creativity, initiative, and building higher-order thinking skills by questioning, investigating, analyzing, exploring, processing information, evaluating, problem-solving, and communicating in their ongoing collaboration with peers, to pursue their passions, to challenge, to innovate, to build character, to build relationships and friendships, and sharing what they see, know, and understand deciding who they will be in society while leading the next generation.

Understand that failures simply provide us with the information we need to learn so we can succeed.

Knowledge is great to have but monetizing their knowledge is even better. Our parents pay us tuition for their child to attend here (which is an investment.) But what is the return on your investment?

At iPLANETS ACADEMY our focus is not just on the here and now. We want to know what shall they do with all this information they are absorbing? How will it translate later in life? Not just in their school years or college, but what career path shall they take? What type of character will they have?

Because what good is it to know all this information if it doesn't actually translate to something tangible in life?

At iPLANETS ACADEMY, we want our children to become

laser- focused earlier in life on what their passions are and what they want to do with their lives so they can spend more of their formative years honing those skills and gaining knowledge on it.

Although we use D.I.C.E within our weekly themes, the children’s individual or collective interests play a role in shaping our daily classroom curricula. They will learn a wealth of information in class, but learning is not confined to just our classrooms or from our textbooks. We don't just want them to consume, and memorize facts or figures, but rather we want them to learn through real world hand-on experiences.

Our goal is to foster a love of learning and learning is found everywhere. The world is vast and everything in it is a learning opportunity for us. This is why we spend 75% within our 4 walls and 25% outside of them learning, exploring, and participating.

iPLANETS ACADEMY strives to create strong bonds between our families and offer a more harmonious, neighborly community because we recognize that our students' families are the primary educators and play a vital role in a child’s development and quality education.

We not only welcome, but we actively recruit our parents to share their interests, talents, to volunteer in both the classroom, and within the community helping to create an ethnically, culturally, economically diverse united community bolstering our children’s learning, growth, and development.

iPlanets Academy S.T.R.E.A.M.S

At iPLANETS ACADEMY we use a progressive learning approach which seeks to involve all members of the community in learning. Our children are given a strong voice and stake in the learning process, from deciding how to show their understanding of a given topic, to helping shape the units of study themselves through exploring, asking questions, researching, and coming to their own conclusions. We are guides and partners in the learning process and listen deeply and carefully to our children.

Learning is active and experiential and often integrates various subject matter as our children work towards greater understanding. All our children are encouraged to learn beyond our four walls. Progressive education values the heart along with the mind and because of this, time and space are given for social and emotional learning.

Our children learn to navigate relationships with peers, identify and manage their own emotions, and advocate for their needs. We see them as individuals and are highly valued as such. We differentiate instruction, taking into account development needs and their interests; to challenge each child, while providing scaffolding for their success.

Making connections and understanding our place in the world is central to our mission. By providing students with opportunities to be involved in learning and serving in their community from the very start, we allow them to see themselves as active participants in their world. We want our children to leave us with strong voices, minds, and hearts.

At iPLANETS ACADEMY we offer a variety of curricula approaches to foster learning and encourage the development of a community of learners:

  • Love

  • S.T.R.E.A.M.S.

We also learn about Native American History, Hispanic History, World History, American History, Mesozoic Era, and Medieval Times, etc.

We will channel our children's

natural curiosity and enthusiasm and encourage them to explore and create work that is real and meaningful. We work to boost their problem-solving skills and instill an excitement for learning to prepare children for their future academic endeavors and success.

All the children follow the same themes and it will offer them a variety of experiences that are both learning-oriented and fun at the same time. It ensures your child’s holistic growth,

development, and fosters your child’s lifelong love for learning and enhancing important social skills they need to thrive in the future.

All children will take an assessment before enrollment to see where they are at developmentally and to decide if we can meet their needs educationally. There is a $28 fee to take this test.

It is important for children to have a safe and productive way to spend time After School.

Latch key kids can face many risks. They may worry, eat poorly, not be protected from pedophiles, watch too much television, or neglect their homework.

Fortunately, we have a great After-School program so your school-aged child from Kindergarten-Fifth Grade  will have a place to go where they can learn, work on homework,  interact, and relax with friends.  The program is everything you ever wanted; it's a safe fun experience and more!

To enroll at iPLANETS ACADEMY in our PRIMARY Class your child(ren) must be 5 years of age by September 1, 2021. This class is for Advanced Kindergarteners and First Grade students. They must have an attention span to sit in a class setting for lessons that are 20-30 minutes at a time and be writing already. During this time in their development, children are yearning for independence and have maturity beyond their years.

We realize this and work to create a stimulating and challenging environment that forms a strong cognitive base for higher learning.

As the children begin to acquire more independence, they learn about making decisions for themselves as individuals and as part of a team.

Our ELEMENTARY Class at iPLANETS ACADEMY is for child(ren) in the Second and Third grade.

The children in this class must be writing already, be mature enough to keep up with an extensive, rigorous, and fast-paced class with a varied curriculum as well as an attention span to do lessons for at least 30-45 minutes at a time.
